Yayyyy! Hey guys, so I just wanted to jump in real quick and say I had a great day at the salon. My co-workers are nice, the atmosphere is chill and I got a new client today! Can you say "Cha-ching"!!!

I only had 1 client today so I mostly talked (y'all know I did) and get to know the people I work with so I will have more news to share as the days go! Just know, so far I am loving it!

Here is a few shots of the salon so you can see it, I want you to feel like you are with me, cause you are #side eye. Once I get comfortable and won't look suspect, I will take pics of the whole place. It is huge!

the chair on the right is my station! Yayy!!

This me sitting in the chair, shoutout to my whip starring in the background! #cameo

Now, I know most of y'all are nosey like me so here is what I looked like leaving the house, pumped up, nervous and ready to go!

Mock Re Twist + A almost Bantu Knot Out

Just a few pics of my mock retwist and bantu knot out. Please don't expect to see a head full of curls because someone (me) didn't let then dry all the way. I have since convinced myself that this is how I wanted it to look anyway! Hahahahahahha! Right, Gurl! Enjoy!

I can honestly say, looking at these pics, my locs have grown and thickened up quite a bit! I must thank semi free forming for that. I am thinking I am a mock re-twist/semi free former from now on. I'll call it "mock free former". Let's see if it offends someone #sideeye. :)

LOTD=Locs of The Day/FOTD=Fro of The Day

 Hey yall,

If you follow me on twitter @Jahlicia  then you may be aware that I discussed a #LOTD segment on my blog where you just twitpic your locs, however you are rocking them that day, add the hashtag #LOTD and mention me to participate. What I didn't mention is that I want LOOSE naturals to participate as well. I would love to promote ALL forms of natural hair.
I must say thank you to the 3 tweeps that have agreed so far. Sidebar: sideeye to the 213 other people following me, but I digress! Lol!
What you are not aware of is WHY I want to do it. My reasoning behind it is to promote beautiful locs and natural hair in and out of styles and share the many different types, shapes, sizes and textures of naturals. So, in order to do so I NEED YOUR HELP. Singing "I ain't to proud to beg..." while I drop to 1 knee; pweety pweese with sugar on top???

For now, until I get more pics than I can post, I will add the collection weekly however I envision posting pics bi-weekly or tri-weekly (is tri-weekly even a word? O.O) due to the overwhelming contributions I receive, right!!

So, again, all I need you to do is twitpic your natural hair that day, add #LOTD or #FOTD and mention @Jahlicia.
I will gladly do the rest! Be sure to follow this blog to ensure you see your pic as well as some other inspirational naturals pics!

Oh, just so that we are clear, sending me your pic is giving me the explicit right to use your photo for my blog so please do not try and sue me CA MEAN GA NO MONEY!! O.O!!  hahahahahha...but for real doe, I don't! The only thing I have is my cell phone and you WILL have to pry it from my dead, cold hands!!! hahahahahaha!!

Now, that we got that out of the way I am happy to show our first #LOTD entries from my girl @honeycoomb who sent me this pic of her beautiful crown....

Beautiful!!
and also a lovely pic from the beautiful @Lalahunnie06

Thanks so much y'all for being my first! I'm no longer a #LOTD virgin. Hahahhaaha!!

Extra special Thanks goes out to my girl @Anomelodious for my first #FOTD entry! Dare I say it is FROALICIOUS!!! Check the earrings and let's have a moment of silence for my #earringenvy! Annnnnd scene :)

WERK *Snaps fingaz* #pow

So, if you would like to participate then...DO IT!! I will gladly accept them. Thanks for all the support and encouragement guys. My job is to support, encourage and motivate y'all too! Triple Love!

Love,
Jahlicia <3

RoadTrip! Well, Not Really!

ROADTRIP!!!!!!

hahahhaha! The not really is because we went to Atlanta which is like 45 mins. from me so I am not sure if that's considered a "real" roadtrip! Anyway, Me and the bf Ray (I am sure y'all know his name by now) went to the airport to pick up my mother and decided to hang out a lil. By a lil I mean, to the gas station, the local Subway and then hit the highway. We hung out all right, SYKE!

Ok, I will get to the important details...MY LOCS! Here are a few pics of my fresh mock retwist and a great comparison shot of the twisted versus untwisted. Enjoy!

Doesn't he look COOL? #sideeye :)

close up of the ragga rough :)
twisted on top, ragga rough on the bottom :)

Am I the only 1 that takes pics like this? I have a bunch. I was cheesing huh?

My police woman shades #pow #sirensounds #corny #loveit
hahahahhahaha! Can't you just tell Ray is so accustomed to my shenanigans that he doesn't even blink an eye! Love HIM! Enjoy!

Products,Products,Products...

Sup peeps :)

If you follow my channel (and you really should) you would know that my dry locs have been a major problem for me. I put out a request for assistance via shampoo/conditioner and you guys came through with a vengeance for ya gurl! Yayy! If you missed that video, I am happy to add it here :)

When I say y'all let me get all up in your scalp and bathroom sinks, figuratively of course, and told me not only what you use, but what was a fail for you, what NOT to use and where to look and find these products! If y'all wasn't all wearing S's on y'all chest'ss! hahahaha! Get it, s's on your chest'ss...O.O. #corny. Anywho...

The feedback was awesome and I learned a lot! Since my girl avarochelle (shoutout) mentioned Trader Joe's and I have one in town I decided to start there. I found the Tee Tingle shampoo/conditioner sitting there singing "Jahlicia, you neeeed us" so I had to get them. Lol! Of course as soon as I got home I co-washed my locs and the silkiness and moisture was apparent almost immediately! When I tell you I could not stop touching my locs for the rest of the day. $3.99 each WELL WORTH IT! I love it so much I am using it on my clients and so far, so great!
close up of the bottles :)

While at Trader Joe's I also got a huge gallon bottle of Aloe Vera Juice ($7.99) that I was recommended my my girl RealMzhill (shoutout) and that has worked almost magically as well. It has to be kept in the refrigerator but in this heat a cold loc spritz is FINE with ME! In my bottle I have Aloe Vera Juice, water and Olive and Tea Tree oils. It feels and smells lovely!

Next on my list is to try a shampoo bar or two, IC Tea shampoo/conditioner and the Infamous Taliah Wajiid products. My mentor Damian uses the "loc it up" for his fabulous clients but it is so hard to get here plus their terrible customer service has ran me right out of ordering online. Luckily one of my subbies and I are going to do a product swap (Trader Joe's for Taliah Wajiid) so hopefully sometime in the near future I will have my review on that!
So, the saga continues and so far, I am loving it!

Here's my first impression review of these products if you missed it!

Weekly Spotlight: Meroe Khalia

I am so happy to spotlight Meroe! First of all she is so bubbly, friendly and sweet..did I mention cute! #winning!! Lol. I am so glad that she agreed to be featured as she is inspiring, helpful, accomplished and most importantly, grounded. As one of the most prominent inspirations as to why I started making videos, just watching her videos her energy is electric! I love her and appreciluv all she has done and aspired to do, and she is by no means finished yet. Everyone, meet Meroe!!

I asked a series of diverse questions as she is interesting way beyond just her beautiful locs, she is a freelance loc stylist, singer, student, youtuber...etc. How she has the time, we would all love to know. :)

1. For those of us who live under a rock, how long have you been growing your locs?
It will be 9 years next month! I started them August 2002.

2. Why locs as opposed to loose natural hair?
I had no clue what to do with my natural hair and I honestly didn't like it. At the time I started my locs, having locs was the only "acceptable" natural hair style for females my age. I was a junior in high school and the only female with natural hair.

3. What made you decide to start doing locs for the public?
I had been watching youtubers for about 1 year and I started to think I had something I could add to the loc community. It was a safe place to share my knowledge and experiences with other natural people. I wanted to see if I could be “good at it” and I think I have gotten a lot better since my 1st loc video.

4. Whats the biggest natural hair mistake you have made either on yourself or a client?
Myself it was not doing enough research! This resulted in me coloring my hair so often that it weakened my hair, and I wasn’t moisturizing and conditioning it enough, which resulted in breakage. I eventually cut out all of the color. Also, when I used Dr. Bronner’s pure castile soap full strength 2 times in a row it resulted in even worse weakening of my roots. This is why I am semi-free forming right now.
With a client I was oblivious to the fact that certain products can cause build up, therefore I have used locing creams and waxes in people’s hair that cause them to have build up. I am currently working on developing a light spray that I use on myself and my clients so that neither of us have this issue anymore.

5. What made you decide to start a youtube page? Did you expect to become so popular?
Same answer as #3.  I don’t think I am “popular” but I do think I have a slightly significant voice in the youtube loc community. I think my bubbly personality is the main reason why I have as many subbies as I do. I also try to  look my best in my videos,  but then again there are plenty where I am completely natural with no make up and a t-shirt on…even those videos I get good responses to so that’s why I think its more my personality than anything else.

6. What is one random thing your "Internet" family doesn't know about you?
I am LOVING single life right now! I have spent most of my life in or in between relationships and I am finally learning the benefits of being “single”! I get to take time out for me and focus on my goals without feeling the pressure of a relationship. I love being in relationships but one of my flaws is that when I am in one, I tend to neglect my needs and goals which is a terrible thing. I’m not looking forward to my next relationship because that would mean I can’t date anymore lol!

7. Why Opera? How did you get introduced to Opera?
I didn’t chose Opera, Opera chose me. I joined the choir at my university in 2005 and fell in love with singing. I wondered how I could continue singing after college because I felt a church choir wouldn’t be enough for me. I began taking voice lessons summer of 2006 with my choir director and he introduced me to some Italian art songs, which is what you work on 1st when you are getting into classical music. My voice was very comfortable singing this type of music and I enjoyed it! The music is timeless, respectable, and I can perform it without dressing like a slut…unlike popular music. I would have never chosen to study opera because I honestly didn’t like it. It wasn’t until I was exposed to it as a young adult with an open mind that I realized this is what I am meant to do.

8. What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?
Money. LolLol! If money was no object then my motivation would be just happiness and enjoying life. I love  to travel and to surround myself with talented, positive and hilarious people.

9. What is your best make up tip? Quickest go to makeup look?
Cleanse your skin!!! I have finally been brave enough to wear makeup without 1st applying foundation or tinted moisturizer and it wasn’t until then that I realized my skin is pretty nice! Okay I guess that wasn’t a makeup tip….lol!
My best make up tip would be to blend your eye shadow!!! I HATE seeing women with eye shadow on that is packed onto the lid and then ends abruptly! Blend that SH*T!!! lol!!!
My quickest look is a neutral eye. This morning I did a super quick look with 1 WnW palette and 2 e.l.f. brushes…one shader brush and one blending brush. Then applied liquid liner and mascara and done!

10. How do you manage time to do all the things you are involved in plus get in a good workout?
Honestly, I do not get everything done everyday. Sometimes I will miss a workout because I have to practice the piano or an aria, other times I will workout and then not feel like practicing. The key to working out is finding the best time for YOU! Some people enjoy being up early in the morning so that is probably the best time for them to workout. I hate waking up for workouts but it is my favorite time because then I have lots of energy that day, I feel like I started my day off in a positive way, and I only have to take one shower, therefore I only go thru one pair of undies!!! (TMI)  This past year though, I can’t work out before work because then I would have to wake up at 4 a.m. which I refuse to do. At school I could workout in the morning before class but most times that I miss a workout it is because I chose the extra hour of sleep over the workout. I now workout after class or after work and that works for me. I am wide awake and have no excuse. I bring my workout clothes with me in the morning before I leave, therefore I don’t go home and end up getting lazy and miss a workout.  I have found that if I workout right after work/class then it just becomes a part of my work and then after I finish my day is done.

11. What is the thing you love most about being on youtube? The least?
The thing I love most is getting comments on my videos. I get really excited and I read and reply to each one. I love the 2-way communication.
The thing I like least is when I have a ton of views on a video and just a few comments. The purpose for me making videos is to interact with people, not just talk to them. I like when they give me feedback. That’s why I try to make it a point to comment on the videos I watch.
12. What are your thoughts on the whole "natural hair" movement on youtube? Do you see a division between loc'd naturals and loose naturals?
I love the natural hair movement! I see more and more women going natural and I am sure that youtube and blogs are encouraging more women to embrace their natural hair, as well as show men that it is beautiful! There is some division between loose naturals and loc’d naturals but I still watch both types of channels. I am looking forward to having loose hair again someday.
13. When in the hell are we gonna get a singing video?? :)
I need to stop faking huh? Lol!

Thanks so much to Meroe for hanging with us via this blog today! I so appreciluv her and had to add her to my spotlight list. Take one look at her YT vids and you will love her too!

The Busiest Week...Ever!

Hey guys!

I know, I know! I have been gone ALL week long, I didn't even record this week but trust me, it's with good reason! I have been in meetings, ripping and running and doing hair all in between all of that! In no way am I complaining, I'm just saying.

Lets start with the good news! Well, as of this Thursday, yours truly will be working in a SALON!! Yayyy me! Yes, ya gurl is officially in a salon. I am so thankful and blessed for the opportunity as it solves allot of my problems while also helping the owners.
One day about 2 weeks ago I was contacted by a Salon owner in reference to working in her salon. It was such a blessing as I needed someplace closer in town for my clients to visit. I live in the country side so without a vehicle and good directions...forget about it! Lol. Upon meeting her and working out the details, we have agreed to work together and I cannot wait!! Yayy me! Stay tuned for salon footage!
Also, I have been getting new clients like crazy! Ya gurl has been working up a storm on the other side of this computer. I must have done about 10 heads this week and praying for more.
I literally just finished braiding my niece's hair and here is a pic of her style.

Its a Mohawk style with a twist out in the middle, it is twisted now to give desired look. #Boom!

Lets see...I also made 2 trips to Atl this week and was up before 9am almost every day! So, things are progressing and all praises to the most high JAH for these blessings that are bestowing upon ya gurl.SMILEYFACE!!

I also bought some new products to try and moisturize my locs and will be recording and posting pics and my opinions on them tomorrow! So, stay tuned for more Jahlicia adventures and  Thanks again for all the support!

Weekly Spotlight: Damian Walters

I am super excited to debut my "weekly spotlight" with one of my favorite people! Damian Walters is a very successful loctitian in the Houston area. As a career, Damian, in my opinion, has taken Natural hair to another level and once viewing at least 1 of his video's you will clearly see how and why!

I was referred to Damian's youtube channel by @Naturhoflo one afternoon while we were discussing me going into business for myself. While explaining how successful she was becoming in her town, she mentioned that she has learned so much from this awesome loctitian that makes video's. Of course, me being the youtube junkie I am, I tuned in and NEVER tuned out. I probably watched every single video he had available in 2 days. Yes, your gurl went harrrrd in the paint! Lol.
He has and continues to share "insider" tips and tricks as well as taught numerous do it yourself ers in the natural hair and loc community to love, maintain and style our hair.
So, when the idea for my weekly spotlight came up, naturally I thought of him. Gracious as ever, he eagerly accepted and candidly answered all my burning questions. So, without further gum flapping, here we go!

1. How long have you been doing hair? professionally and unprofessionally.
At this point a total of 8 years.. I started when I was 19 and I'll be 27 this year.

2. What made you decide to focus on natural hair?
I hated what I saw when I saw people with natural hair! Some part of it always looked disgusting and I knew it didn't have to.

3. What would you tell someone to look for when trying to find a loctitian that is a good one. Are there any signs that a person can look for to know?
Look at the station.. it should look a certain way even if the person is a neat freak. A work station is just that, a work station with things in certain comfort zones for that person. Also, the feed back you get on your questions, how focused the person maybe to the price versus your hair and their attitude. I never understood the aggression.

4. Willing to share a moment when you had a complete fail doing hair? Like a style fail or product mix up, coloring accident...
Oh man no lie, I messed up a lot! I think those were my finest moments because I learned. One time this lady came in when I first started, I think it was like year 2 and she had very long starter locs and I had never seen this before. All I knew was when the loc is long, palm roll it so that's what I did. After I shampooed it I destroyed the pattern! I wasn't good with starting them yet just cleaning them up but I was upset with HER for letting me do these things so I got an attitude and started handling things very foolishly and ended up loosing all the way around. I have never felt so horrible! I never saw her again but I wanted to so badly; that moment made me work on me tremendously.
Another time I did a bleach and got the cheapest one because I didn't understand buying decent products. The salon I was in at the time made me think it was protocol to go to the beauty supply store daily, I was young and didn't manage my money well so I bought the one that cost 1 damn dollar and burned her hair up to jesus.. again another what the hell did I do.. but I learned!!

5. What is your hair motto?
Make this what I know it can be.

6. What is a complete natural hair No No in your book?
Listening to hear say without facts and dirty hair grows faster.

7. What would you tell someone considering going natural...getting locs..either or?
Make sure you are patient, aware of your change and that this is going to teach you a lot about yourself.

 8. What made you decide to start a youtube page? Were you prepared to become so popular amongst loc heads?
Just marketing that I'm a stylist in Houston.  I didn't expect this at all but I'm glad that I can help and I'm no where near finished, education is ever going and growing.

9. How do you balance your personal life with being a loctitian? Most stylist struggle to find free time for themselves...
My mom..lol she calls herself corporate and if it's late she will call in this demanding voice saying this is corporate it's late get your ass out of there! lol. But my love life sucks because people get the wrong image of me but it's cool I find the peace. Also, on my off days I'M OFF!

10. What is 1 loc tip (of any kind) you have learned that you don't mind sharing?
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize and protein to build strength.

For more information on Damian, to contact him and see his amazing work check out http://www.theevolutionofstyle.com/index.html.

Special thank you to Damian for being so candid and willing to do this interview for us. You are so appreciluved and have definitely educated many a loc head!

Thank you guys so much for visiting, feel free to leave your feedback below and don't forget to follow
my blog for future weekly spotlights! Next week it may be YOU!

A Little of This, Little of That

Hey guys! Whats been going on out there behind the computer, Ya'll good? Good, nice to hear! hahaha!

I wanted to show you guys a few pics of what I have been up to lately, like, as in the last 24 hrs. I know, I stay getting myself into something.
So, as I told y'all I lightened my colored locs some more, plus call myself "creating" a red/black leopard style loc that was a complete #fail. Well, semi fail as I am determined to get it right. This was totally my motivation to try it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM8eIOywdV4 and I don't know whether to thank them or slap myself...possibly BOTH! Here are some close up pics for you to judge it! Sidebar: it is very difficult to photograph jet black hair, especially with a blackberry so trust my locs are not as whiteish or faded as they appear. Plus I still had a lil conditioner in it. Okay!!

ps. YES, I am wearing glasses..totally awesome nerdy glasses that I love! Ray calls them MDJD's and its NONE of your business WHY! hahahahahahaha

Now, you can see my Semi Fail up close and personal! Ugh! Looks more like a red/black Dalmatian style which is NOT what I am going for. Stay tuned for attempt #2, what do you think, #fail or #win?

Ok, now I have also fell in like with crocheting again, I am thinking its because I so love bows, so here is a up close pic of my now infamous red bow! Feedback? I am already onto bow #2. Who wants one??

I am so channeling Minny Mouse and I LOVE IT!!!!

Lastly, I have been thinking about my love for makeup and my lack of lighting to actually do make up tuts and have totally come up with a solution. So, you know how there are like 50 million and one yt make up tuts uploaded daily? Well, if you are a make up lover but cant stand to sit through the entire long ass tutorial like myself, I have devised an idea. What I will do from now on is what I call "Make up Drills"! Make up drills is when I show you my finished eye look and then show you the products I use, a brief synopsis (college word :) of how I did it and the tools I use. It will be sooo much easier and quicker to do, shoot and upload. It is for the person who understands make up basics and fast forwards through the tuts (like I do). Now, of course I am always open for questions if I skim through something that you don't overstand, but for the most part I am willing to bet this will make more sense in the long run. I mean, over 12 mins for a makeup tut? I should be ashamed of myself!
So, here is my latest look, just so you can see my work! I am by no means a make up artist but I play one on TV!

You ain't got to Lie Craig......

I swear, some folks need attention...Badly!!

I wake up yesterday and do my usual, check twitter! Don't act like I am the only one, y'all do it too!! Anyway, I check twitter and I see my homie @Frankeyz speaking about a mutual "twitfriend" of ours "Safiyah". She is saying RIP to her. Immediately I am shocked and searching her mentions for info thinking she died. I am shocked, upset, concerned all in one because I had just tweeted her the night before, life is so precious its possible she could be dead, plus she is super cool and didn't want anything to happen to her. Once I get into her mentions I see the reason for concern. Can you say desperate/thirsty!!
Apparently, the person we know as "Safiyah Morales" (yes,we had her full name) is in fact NOT her! It was all a hoax. This thirsty individual STOLE this beautiful sista's information, created a twitter and a facebook and BECAME her!! I CANNOT make this stuff up, y'all! So the entire time we are all tweeting, talking and loving her (sidebar: she had such great personality and spunk) it was some Nigerian chick that has been loosely called a "bison"! Shocking, right!!!
2 things about this story saddens me. 1 is that this "bison" is so insecure about her own looks and worth that she would rather create this fabulous life online than be who she really is. This chick had a fashion career, flashy nights on the town, drunken weed induced fun that we all enjoyed vicariously through her. Many a nights I found myself thinking, damn this girl has it all! YEAH RIGHT! Lesson, you never know what others REALLY have or how they got it.
2 is that she stole this girls ENTIRE FREAKING LIFE!! Like, are you kidding me??? Who does that?? Well apparently SHE does! I mean, since I was her "friend" on facebook I had access and saw for myself over 500 pics of this girl, her family, family trips, her house and all her friends. There was even madd video on there also. Wowsers is all I can think to say!!

So, I know you are all curious to see the beautiful sista we all thought she was and the thirsty bison that did it so, here you go!

Here is the beautiful "Safiyah Morales" we all grew to know and love!! Rip Safiyah

...and THIS may be the thirsty, despicable bison that it really was!

**Update: So, I removed the pic of the alleged pic thief to protect the possible innocent! However once it is determined who in fact did it, expect to be informed. Trust, she pretty much looks like the pic, just add bright red lipstick**
Thanks goes out to the fool on twitter that shared the news. Ugh! What an asshole, he is :) -J

Anyway, I think this is an interesting story and will definitely keep you posted. I am well as other tweeters are on am all out search to find who the loc'd beauty really is. She needs to know her entire life was STOLEN!!!

RIHANNA's my long lost cousin...?

                                                                               =
                                                                  NOT!

Now, as much as I STAN for Rih Rih and I do mean STAN, the following BS is brought to you courtesy of a day in Walmart! smh!

There I am in walmart with my mom chatting away in our Native tongue (English on crack with a strong dialect) when this lady overhears us and blurts out "where are you from" to me. Now I am very accustomed to this question so without thinking I say "Virgin Islands". How about she says "oh yea, like Rihanna...Y'all related?" Needless to say, I was flabbergasted and busts out laughing. I mean hysterically because that had definitely been the most ridiculous thing heard that day! Really? You went all the way to related lady? So, me being who I am I said "Wow, yes, we are related. Never mind the fact that we don't look alike and are from 2 entirely different places...yes, we are cousins!!" So, my mom looks at me with her Saved and Sanctified you shouldn't lie eyes and was about to tell her the truth when she says "I knew it, yall sholl do look alike"!! At that point, my mom, finally as shocked as I was, said "thanks' and pushed the cart away! I am still standing there with what I am sure is a "you dumb as hell" look on my face as this lady continues to sing a medley of my "cuzz Rihanna" tunes to me as if I am supposed to jump right on it! If she only knew I was thinking "Damn I left the cam at home and I could have been recording this mess!! Rihanna's my cousin yall! Who would have knew!!
Once again, I cannot make this stuff up! Only in Athens!

Today was a Complete....

FAIL!!!

I am sure you can tell from my facial expression! hahahaha! I am laughing now but trust me nor Ray was laughing about 3 hours ago. After spending 4 freaking hours at the Goodwill job center where he had his "interview" for some random position, we find out that they only had 5 positions to fill out of the 42 people the invited to "interview" today. Yep, you guessed it, all of us at 10am.
Perimeter Staffing....SUCK A D*&K!!!

ps..My attempt to apply for Cosmetology school was a fail too so stay tuned for that dilemma in a future posting.

You didn't mean to say "Rasta" right? O.O

I am telling you, people are crazy these days! Me and Ray (the bf) was chilling, and by chilling I mean waiting in the damn heat, over a friends house when this random lady asking him the typical questions. "Is that all your hair?, how long have you been growing it?" and my personal favorite "Can I touch it?" Now, if you have locs or know anyone with em, those are pretty much the standard cookie cutter loc questions. So, of course he answers and to the last one I jump in with my usual resounding "NO". She was a lil taken aback but then abruptly kept on talking and inquiring. I mean, his hair is long as hell so we are pretty much used to the admiration. Now, as she goes on to talk I am tuning her out, looking at twitter, yanno, doing me when out of the blue I hear the word "Rasta". So, I instantly look up out of my twitter haze to both of them looking at me. "Excuse me" I say. Now from how I am sitting I can see both of their expressions...her looking like she is waiting for a response, him looking like he wanted to say "please dont respond" so you KNOW at that point I am definitly interested. This lady said "You guys aren't those....rastas are you". Huh? Instantly I am defensive like, what do you know about rasta and you have 2.5 seconds to explain before I GO IN!! Do you know this beeeyach said it again..with even more disgust on the ending. So, I went IN! I would love to tell you guys all I said but just know that by the end of that convo, She was apologizing and admitting that she was told when she went on a trip to Jamaica to stay away from the "rasta's" because they will rob and rape you! hahahahhaa sometimes ignorance is so astonishing even I am speechless!
Now, in my head I am like, &*&%^%*&^&%^% and ((&(())*^&^$^&&^&&!!!!!! But I quickly explained to her that RASTA ARE PEACEFUL, LOVING PEOPLE and have little to no interest in her money nor pussy! Please, I have never in my entire life heard of a rasta raping a soul, have you?
So, needless to say after a 45 min history lesson she was set straight!! Completely straight and I have officially done my good deed for the day. Dont think for a second that I didnt make it clear to her that it was the power of "JAH RASTAFAR I" that kept me off her ass so she may wanna consider thanking him! Okay! smdh!
I just wanted to share this story with you guys because you just cannot make this stuff up! Let me know your thoughts!
